Our Mission!

Mar. 10, 2013

Supporting Real American Heroes and their Families. HUGS reaches out to Real American Heroes in many ways. There may be a need for temporary financial assistance, or assistance with connecting to the V.A., counseling, job seeking or making other connections necessary to "carry on". HUGS reaches out to the families of our Heroes in their times of need. If we do not have the ability to assist, we will help make the necessary connections.

Blessing of the Bikes - June 1st, 2014

WONDERFUL TURN OUT for this year's 7th annual BLESSING OF THE BIKES at Salem United Methodist Church. Watch for upcoming pics! THANK YOU to Rev. Debbie Earthrowl for once again providing our BLESSED BIKERS with a heartfelt blessing. Wonderful to see not only motorcycles of every description, but also bicycles!!! Our deep gratitude to the congregation for supplying a wonderful Luncheon for our guests. Thank you to this year's recipients of our HERO award ~ The Salem Vol Fire Dept. for a very respectable showing (we know how very busy your schedules are). Thank you to our fantastic Road Captain, (my hubby) Chuck Alexander for a ride to remember....NICE JOB, HONEY! MOST IMPORTANTLY ~ PRAISES & THANKS to our LORD for providing us with a beautiful day, a safe ride, the ability to ride and for LOVING US AND TRULY BLESSING US ALL!

Check out some of the pictures from the event HERE

Soon....Yes, SOON ~ we will be getting out the motorcycles, dusting them off, prepping them and getting ready to get on the road!
Mark your calendars for the FIRST SUNDAY IN JUNE ~ to have those bikes blessed for the riding season. Rev. Debbie Earthrowl of The Salem United Methodist Church, Salem N.Y. does an OUTSTANDING job of officiating over the moving church service and blessing every year. A complimentary lunch follows the blessing. Helmets are passed during the service and those offerings are donated to HUGS for HEROES, SUMC. So pack up the family...all bikes are welcome (even bicycles). We have had children's tricycles, bicycles, scooters, bikes and trikes. PUBLIC WELCOME ~ no matter what your religion or religious upbringing or lack there of! HUGS would love to see you there.

Come join us @ 10:30 a.m. for this very blessed event. You will truly feel blessed as you are being a blessing in supporting our mission! SEE YOU THERE! JUNE 1, 2014 RAIN OR SHINE (Can't bring your bike? Come anyway ~ we will be sending you home with a laminated blessing for you to carry on your bike)
